Which wire size for what?
3/29 (≈1.5 mm²) for lights and fans; 7/29 (≈2.5 mm²) for sockets and kitchen points; 7/36 (≈4 mm²) for a 1–1.5 ton AC or water heater on its own breaker; 7/44 (≈6 mm²) for a 2 ton AC, motor or a sub-main to a floor DB; 7/52 (≈10 mm²) from the meter to the main DB. The final sizes should match the load and breaker chosen by your electrician.
How many metres in a bundle?
Wire in Pakistan is sold in coils of 90 metres (a gattha). The estimator rounds each size up to whole bundles.
Why pure copper?
Cheap wire sold as copper is often copper-coated aluminium or under-sized strands; it heats up under an AC load and is the commonest cause of house fires. Scrape a strand — it should be copper all the way through — and buy from a known mill.
