Land area converter
Square feet, square yards, square metres, marla, kanal and acres — every unit at once, with the marla size your society or document uses. Marla ka size society ke hisaab se badalta hai.

Convert a plot or land size (zameen ka rakba)
Type the area, pick the unit it is in and the unit you want. All six units update as you type. Choose the marla size first if your figure is in marla or kanal, or if you want the answer in them.
One name, three sizes
Marla and kanal are not fixed units. The acre, square foot, square yard and square metre are. That is why this converter asks for the marla size instead of assuming one.
| Marla size | 5 marla | 10 marla | 1 kanal (20 marla) | Kanal in 1 acre |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 225 sq ft | 1,125 sq ft | 2,250 sq ft | 4,500 sq ft | 9.68 |
| 250 sq ft | 1,250 sq ft | 2,500 sq ft | 5,000 sq ft | 8.712 |
| 272.25 sq ft | 1,361.25 sq ft | 2,722.5 sq ft | 5,445 sq ft | 8 |
An acre is always 43,560 sq ft (4,840 sq yd, about 4,046.86 m²); only the number of kanal in it changes. A plot's dimensions (for example 25 × 45 ft) are the surest guide: multiply them for square feet and convert from there.
Common questions
Is 1 kanal always 20 marla?
In this converter, yes: 1 kanal is 20 marla of the marla size you choose. If a document states a kanal directly in square feet, use that figure and convert from square feet.
What is a gaz?
In plot sizes “gaz” means a square yard: 9 square feet. A 120 gaz plot is 1,080 sq ft.
Why are there no feet, yards or metres?
Those measure length, not area. Multiply length by width (both in feet) to get square feet, then convert.
How exact are the results?
The relations are exact: 1 sq yd = 9 sq ft, 1 acre = 43,560 sq ft and 1 sq ft = 0.09290304 m². Results are rounded only for display (2–6 decimal places); Copy uses the figures you see, and Download CSV keeps full precision.
Can I rely on this for a sale or registry?
It is a calculator, not a survey. The legal area is what the registry, allotment letter or society plan states. Ask the society or a surveyor when a document's unit is unclear.
